Porsche Sales Numbers for 2021 – Another Record Setting Year

Porsche Macan tops the sales numbers for 20212021 – Porsche sells 55,000 new four-door models vs. just 14,000 new sports car coupe models!

Back in 2019 when no mask was needed, Porsche set record sales numbers. 2020 was a year of turmoil and included a shutdown of production during the pandemic. Porsche’s sales in 2020 were still remarkable, but 2021 new car sales have exceeded the 2019 numbers by a record amount. And, order books for 2022 are full – apparently!

While American manufacturers are moaning about no semiconductors, VW ensured enough of the little rascal chips were available for Porsche to deliver their new cars. The strategy worked with more than 70,000 new cars sold in the USA in 2021. Porsche now makes more money per vehicle sold than any other manufacturer in the USA. Not bad considering the financial mess Porsche found itself in some years ago. Read Full Article »

As we reported, in late Q3 2020, Porsche began reaching out to owners with emails or physical mail providing warranty extension details for the transfer case on Macan and Cayenne models. Porsche said, “on certain model year Porsche Cayenne and Macan vehicles, the transfer case long term durability may be below Porsche’s high-quality standards.”

Many owners have already had to replace the transfer case on these models. So, Porsche agreed to pay for the previous repairs and provided a mechanism for making the claim. All well and good, except, as of January ’21, no one had got their refund check! Why the delay? Read Full Article »

Porsche North America Reports Sales Volume for 2020 – Not Many Suprises

Porsche North America repaorts sales for 2020 including the TaycanReading Between the Lines of a Crazy Pandemic Sales Year

2020 was certainly a wild ride from many perspectives and the business climate was generally disrupted throughout the country. You therefore, don’t need to be a rocket scientist to predict lower sales results from most enterprises. Having said that, Porsche posted results that actually are not too shabby and in fact, still show growth when compared to 2018.

Yes, overall sales declined by a little over 4000 cars, but volume held up pretty well considering the obscure environment or “new normal” that we find ourselves in. Don’t worry though, uncle Joe and the blue cavalry will sort it all out real soon and everything will be back to…well, different. So what do the sales numbers really tell us? Read Full Article »

Porsche is now an SUV Manufacturer with a Legendary Sports Car Pedigree

Porsche produces the 1 millionth Porsche Cayenne53 Years and a Million Reasons Why This Was Such a Good Idea

Porsche recently crossed an important milestone – the 1 millionth Porsche Cayenne rolled off the production line and was delivered to a smiling customer in Germany. Not bad for a sports car company that took the gamble to start the design and production work for an SUV style vehicle in the late 1990’s  – that’s when most of us were pondering the Y2K problem!

It took Porsche 53 years to produce 1 million 911 coupes. The Cayenne has surpassed that number in a brief 18 years and looks easily set to overtake the all-time 911 production numbers. Along with its SUV partner, the Macan, the Cayenne has changed the Porsche dynamic and stolen the show. Read Full Article »
