911 997.2 Quickly Becoming A Rare Commodity
As we rapidly approach the 992, the older 997 is now the Porsche 911 that falls into the “should be a bargain” category. However, while the earlier version is an awesome car and has a reasonable supply available, the later 997.2 seems to be rare and increasing in value.
Any 911 from 2009 through 2011 is bit harder to find — the economy was in free-fall after the housing bubble burst and the banks stole all our money, 401K and then took billions of tax Dollars as a bailout gift – not many people rushed out and bought a 911.
The PCA published and excellent article that discusses “what’s going on with the Porsche 997.2 market?” that highlights some of the problems in finding a good car from that time. If you take a step back and look at the original 997, there are more cars to be had. And in particular the Turbo version is an outstanding car for the current money – so likely to increase in value as well over time.
