The AWE performance exhaust suite for the Porsche 911 997 Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera 4, Carrera 4S and targa provides amazing sound coupled with excellent power gains. The exhaust comes in two different types based on whether your car has the PSE option included or not. For PSE equipped vehicles, the PSE muffler option allows the PSE system to open valves in the same way as the stock exhaust. On Non-PSE cars, the valves are not present in the AWE exhaust. Either exhaust option deepens the tone, adds volume and increases power gains.
Optional Headers and Cat sections
To gain the most horse power and torque from the exhaust, optional header and high flow cat sections are offered. Together with the muffler sections, the full exhaust is more than 9 lbs lighter and produces more than a 28 HP gain and more than 28 ft lbs toque gain through the rev band.
The exhaust is well behaved at idle and low speeds, yet on full throttle produces deep racing tones that will turn heads. Typically with AWE exhausts, there is no drone at steady highway speeds.
AWE offer three choices of tips for the 911 Carrera Exhaust:

High quality exhaust with easy fitment and awesome sound. Power gains are very healthy – not many ways to gain this much power on a normally aspirated flat 6. Optional control from the PSE function is maintained – great feature and a good way to get volume when you want to. Cat sections are designed for “race use only.” We do recommend the headers to get the best from this exhaust.
Installation is pretty straight forward depending upon the options you pick. AWE includes new hardware to make the job simple. Connection of the valves is really easy if you have the PSE option and this job shouldn’t take more than a couple of hours.
