New Seats and a Power Tweak – Seasons Greetings
Porsche just announced it’s adding a GTS variant to the 2020 Macan lineup. The GTS will fit in between the S and Turbo with a 375-horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 and some styling tweaks – a seasonal gift to the Macan?
The Macan is the top selling Porsche model with sales of more than twice that of the 911. It’s easy to see why – practical, fast and great looks.
Porsche says the Macan GTS will arrive at dealerships in the summer of 2020 with a price of $71,300 – a bargain right?
The 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 has 27 more horsepower than the Macan S and 15 hp more than the previous generation Macan GTS. Torque is increased to with 383 pound-feet available between 1,750-5,000 rpm. That translates into more grunt and measurably quicker acceleration. The GTS can get from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds – so you can easily grab a take out and make it home before it gets cold.
The GTS has adaptive air suspension, 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels and a sport exhaust system. A Sport Design package is also standard which gives the GTS unique front and rear fascias plus side skirts.
The interior has also been tweaked with the inclusion of sport seats – eight-way power adjustable with Alcantara center pads – nice. The exterior includes LED headlights and taillights that have a slight dark tint.
